Where is the most exciting place you’ve ever lived or visited?
Oxford, UK, where I had the pleasure of working, arguing, and socializing with people from all over the world. Living in a place steeped in history while only being a quick train ride from the great city of London, allowed me to experience the best of both worlds.
People would be surprised to learn that I …
… have an appreciation for timeless classics—cars, watches, gadgets, you name it. I’ll take my BlackBerry 9670 over an iPhone any day.
What was your first pet?
I had a white and beige Labrador mutt named Blackie. I know, it doesn’t make much sense to me either.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and lived there until I was fourteen. I called Singapore home after that before moving to the United States.
What is your favorite quote?
“Bagai padi main berisi makin merunduk” – an Indonesian proverb directly translated, “The fuller/denser the rice plant is the more it bows down.” It means, “The smarter you are, the more humble you are.”
What hobbies do you enjoy?
When I’m not busy working, you’ll find me 35,000 feet above the ground heading towards my next adventure. I will more than likely be accompanied by a copy of the Financial Times and a glass of chardonnay.
