Functional Consultant Opportunities

We have an opportunity for a Functional Consultant with Green Beacon Solutions - an expanding, award-winning, solutions-oriented business technology company in the greater Boston area. We provide high-impact Microsoft Dynamics business solutions, consulting and managed services to a wide variety of small to midsize companies within the US. The Functional Consultant is a key Green Beacon team member involved in the functional design, implementation and ongoing enhancement of ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Essential Responsibilities of Position:

• Facilitate discussions with client and project teams. Understand and communicate client needs, project team's goals, and individual role in building custom and packaged client solutions.
• Work closely with clients and other team members to define, design and align the business application to the business requirements.
• Manage and deliver small projects independently. Lead other Consultants in delivering according to client expectations; take ownership of successful completion of deliverables and projects.
• Participate in the development of functional and technical specifications, unit and system test scripts, and deployment plans.
• Facilitate functional sessions and weekly status meetings with clients, including the ability to drive a client to decisions.
• Own project deliverables (status reports, documentation, test plans.) Take personal ownership of the success of deliverables and projects.
• Communicate internally and externally by providing weekly status reports, issues lists, etc.
• Setup and configure Dynamics AX modules based upon concentation: Financials, AR, AP, Trade/Logistics etc.
• Participate with other implementation team members to ensure the overall accuracy and consistency of accounting transactions throughout the system.
• Assist clients with initial financial period closing processes, reporting and analysis. Financial statement and operational reports preparation.
• Train clients on new processes and Dynamics AX Financials and Trade/Logistics.

Required Minimum Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Supply Chain Management (SCM), Finance or related field.
• Significant progress towards the attainment of certification in concentrated fields such as CPA.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in respective discipline such as: 
  • Accounting experience preferably in a professional services or a consulting environment for Financial discipline
  • Inventory Manager for Trade Logistics discipline
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred, or experience with Oracle, SAP, BAAN, JD Edwards, Epicor or similar systems.
• Experience or knowledge in Information Systems (IS) and/or ERP software preferred.
• Experience with SQL Server, Database Structure, FRx a plus.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
