The Green Beacon ERP Implementation Methodology includes the following project stages:
Business Strategy / Solution Design. The analysis and design stage of the project is focused on gathering detailed information about the processes that will be automated within the project. This information includes all the data and functional requirements, which are then broken down into components to create a system design.
Implementation. Implementation is the most complex phase of the project, and consists of several stages:
- Installation - Installation starts with planning the best scenario for deploying the application to the end-users. Installation of the software on the servers and workstations based on the plan is then completed.
- Implementation Team Training (Level 1) - The Green Beacon implementation team prepares a series of training classes that will be delivered to the client implementation team. The goal of this training is to provide the client implementation team enough knowledge to execute their tasks during the configuration and unit testing phase of the project. The level 1 training focuses on simple routine tasks that the system will handle.
Training on the basic setup of the system is also included in level 1 training.
- Configuration/Unit Testing (Level 1) - During this phase of the project the implementation team focuses on automating the simple and routine business processes. The business process is graphically depicted and the automated procedure is documented. Setup required to automate these process is also accomplished.
- Conference Room Pilot 1 - A complete test of all simple and routine documented business processes is performed. The CRP team will use the documented procedures as testing documents for CRP 1.
- Implementation Team Training (Level 2) - Level 2 of the Implementation Team Training encompasses training on all of the complex processes within an organization. The goal again of this phase is to provide the client implementation team the knowledge to automate these complex processes. Any advanced setup will also be covered in this training.
- Configuration/Unit Testing (Level 2) - During this phase of the project the implementation team focuses on automating the complex business processes. The business process is graphically depicted and the automated procedure is documented. Setup required to automate these process is also accomplished.
Typically during this phase any necessary customizations are also developed.
- Conference Room Pilot 2 - A complete test of all complex documented business processes is performed. The CRP team will use the documented procedures as testing documents for CRP 2. All customizations should also be tested during CRP 2.
- Data Conversion - A data conversion plan is determined during the requirements analysis phase of the project. During this phase the data conversion plan is executed.
At a minimum setup of the master records either by conversion from the existing data or by manual entry into the system is accomplished in
this phase.
Training. End user training is typically done by the client implementation team. Green Beacon is used to support the end user trainers and to help develop training curriculum.
Deployment and Support. During this phase the live company is created and the final data conversion is performed for 'Go Live'.
The Green Beacon project team is on-site during the 'Go Live' process to make sure that things go smoothly. Typically, members of the team remain available to the client implementation team and end users to provide post project support as needed.
